Fujifilm has developed a new UV inkjet digital label press, LP350, to meet the needs of the prime label market for short runs, high quality and variable content.
LP350 will be available in 228mm (9in) and 330mm (13in) web widths, and can print at 50m/min (164ft/min) with a resolution of 600 x 600dpi and four-level grayscale. Interstation UV pinning enhances the print quality. The press natively runs CMYK+OV to hit 94% of the Pantone colour gamut, noted by Fujifilm as necessary for work in the prime label printing market. In addition, two white inkjet channels enable high levels of opacity for a wide variety of label applications.
Newly developed UV inks have various resistance properties for enhanced surface durability, lightfastness, and water- and chemical-resistance. The inks also offer excellent print reproducibility, density and vibrancy, and can be used with a variety of commonly used label substrates, such as clear supported and unsupported films, foils, metallised materials, and coated and uncoated papers.
